Ventilators

Nowadays, many homeowners are interested in ways that they can make their home more energy-efficient without sacrificing comfort. Choosing to add a ventilator to your home’s heating and cooling system is a relatively simple way to do just that! Arundel Cooling and Heating provides superior indoor air quality products and services to homes throughout Maryland, including Baltimore, Annapolis, Columbia, and Ellicott City. With our selection of top-of-the-line ventilators, you’re sure to find the right fit for your eco-friendly home.

In general, there are two different kinds of ventilators, heat recovery and energy recovery. While both are energy-efficient and cost effective, there are some key differences that will help determine which is right for your home.

Key Differences

  • Heat recovery ventilators help reduce excess moisture during the warm months to keep your home from accumulating too much moisture year-round. It only transfers heat. They’re better suited for colder climates where long winters can lead to excess moisture. You’ll know your home has too much moisture in it if you notice condensation on your windows.
  • Energy recovery ventilators balance the humidity in your home during cooler months by exchanging both water vapor and heat energy. They’re better suited to warm, humid climates.

Since Maryland has hot, humid summers and mild winters, an energy recovery ventilator will likely be the best choice for your home. We’ll be sure to discuss your options with you before moving forward with an installation. Whichever model you choose, your new ventilator will circulate fresh outdoor air into your home without needing to prop your windows and doors open, keeping your conditioned air inside and your energy bills low. That’s great news for your indoor air quality – and your wallet!
